Alienware arena tournament locked and unLoaded

Over the last few weeks the Alienware Arena has been hosting one of the latest and greatest North American Call of Duty 4 tournaments entitled the Lock n' Load tournament. 64 teams competed in 8 brackets, trying to fight their way to the top of their respective qualifying bracket in order to earn themselves a spot in the championship bracket. Over the last week, the bracket finals had been completed and the top 8 teams had been selected and placed into the championship bracket. Saturday marked both the start and the completion of the championship bracket as it proved to be an eventful day for the North American Call of Duty 4 community as the tournament play commenced at 2pm Eastern and lasted all evening as the top teams faced off in an all day brawl against one another as they fought to earn their spot in the championship finals.

Amongst the top teams in the championship bracket were Loaded, Hostile Faction, Elevated Gaming, Immortal 7, SHABTL, Vision.Valor.Victory, Exultance, and Amazing Pudding. While some of these teams are new to the higher tier of competitive Call of Duty 4 gaming, some of them are top teams from North America. There was no doubt that it was a day filled with interesting and difficult matches for all the teams involved.

North American Call of Duty 4 fans watched from 2pm to 8pm Eastern as these top teams showed the world what they were made of. Among many of the matches there were definitely some very close and intense match ups, such as Vision.Valor.Victory verse SHABTL, and Vision.Valor.Victory verse Loaded.

Although the championship bracket contained multiple top ranked competitive North American teams, the one team that stood out was Loaded. The Loaded team managed to force their way into the championship finals, annihilating any team that stood in their way. The Loaded squad, led by Juvenile, fought their way into the championship finals, and did so while going undefeated as it seemed that none of the other teams could stop them.

The final match was played on mp_crash at around 7:30pm Eastern with Vision.Valor.Victory facing off against Loaded. While the match proved to be a close match up, Vision.Valor.Victory was not able to hold on and was knocked out of the bracket by this powerhouse team.

Loaded vs Vision.Valor.Victory

First Half

• Loaded wins the knife round, choosing to take defense for the first half.
• Loaded takes the early 3-0 lead led by Juvenile on scope.
• vVv manages to win 5 in a row, putting the score at 3 to 5.
• However, Loaded manages to come back making it a 6 to 6 even score at half.

Second Half

• After switching to defense, vVv runs a standard two A, two mid, one B defensive strategy that seems to work for them, earning them two round wins right off the start.
• Loaded comes back with a successful three-man A push, as the teams begin to trade two rounds for two rounds throughout the whole second half. However, Loaded manges to pull ahead 12-9.
• vVv then wins three in a row, forcing a 12 to 12 tie and an overtime.

Overtime

• In an overtime where the first team to win four rounds wins, Loaded gets the early one round advantage, but vVv then wins the next two, starting them off with the 2 to 1 advantage.
• At the overtime halftime vVv wins another, putting the scorre at 3 to 1. However, Loaded manages to win the next two, putting the score at 3 to 3; forcing another overtime.

Second Overtime

• In double overtime vVv starts it off strong by getting two early grenade kills in the first round, but the Loaded defense holds strong 3v5 and earns the first round win.
• The two teams trade rounds, putting the score at 2 to 1.
• Loaded almost manages to win three rounds in a row and take the victory, but vVv.Cubed clutches in the 2v1 situation, putting the score at 3-2.
• In the end, vVv can't hold on any longer, and Loaded wins the last round, and the tournament.

The completion of the championship finals match marked the completion of the tournament. With that come the winning rankings of the top three teams that all earned part of the $1,500 cash prize. Congratulations to those teams as I am sure the community will be seeing and hearing a lot more about them after their success in this tournament.
