Intel title sponsor for CC7, CoD4 an option

Over at Crossfire.nu, Stuart "TosspoT" Saw has just revealed the title sponsor for the next edition of the popular Crossfire Challenge series: Intel, world's largest semiconductor chip maker. Intel will be supporting the 'Crossfire Intel Challenge 7', which is set to take place between the 5th and 7th of March (2010) at the WZZRD Gaming Center in Enschede, the Netherlands.

The tournaments currently announced include Enemy Teritory (in a 5vs5 format) and Quake Live. The complete list of tournaments, including an Intel supported new game, will however be made available around Christmas. In addition, the official announcement states that the organisers have decided to delay the decision on whether or not to include Modern Warfare 2 due to competitive difficulties.

When asked about a possible Call of Duty 4 tournament, TosspoT states that "if the community wants it enough, it's there for them", but the organisers are looking for a "legimate show of interest from established lan teams". In case at least 10 teams register for a Call of Duty 4 tournament, a €3,000 should be possible and this will increase once more teams sign-up. In the case that less than 10 teams sign-up before mid January, the tournament will be cancelled and teams will receive a refund.
