Call of Duty: Top stars at Dreamhack, but no rapha

There's no sign of SK star Shane "rapha" Hendrixson today as the QuakeLive participants for Dreamhack Winter 2009 are unveiled on dreamhack.se. A strong selection of high profile players from both sides of the Atlantic will be in attendance, however, but the pressure now on Tim "DaHanG" Fogarty, Brian "dkt" Flanders and Chance "Chance" Lacina to represent the States in Sweden. Their opposition reads, as usual, as the who's who of European Quake with the likes of Anton "Cooller" Singov, Alexey "Cypher" Yanushevsky and Magnus "fox" Olsson all set to compete.

Alexander "Z4muZ" Ihrfors and Maciej "av3k" Krzykowski are also set to make their competitive return to QuakeLive in Jönköping, Sweden, with the latter in particular hoping to improve on his weak showing at Quakecon. The young Pole has been in the shadow of his Serious teammate, "Cypher", for some time now and will look to rectify this at Dreamhack. The event has also brought out a number of other well known competitors and has been welcomed as the first major European event to feature a large signup list as opposed to the invite-only events run by ESL.

The tournament is set to take place on the 26th and 27th of November with close to €6,000 (in SEK and products) on offer. Stay tuned to TEK9 for full coverage of the QuakeLive tournament with previews, scores, reviews and more all on the way!
